Why The Critical View exists
My job is to walk into a room where everything is going wrong and everyone is frightened — and find the one question that actually matters.
Years in intensive care taught me that this way of thinking isn't only useful at a bedside.
It works everywhere.
On health.
On science.
On the news.
On the things we are told to believe before we have had a chance to understand them.
The Critical View brings that lens into the open.
Not to tell you what to think.
To make it a little easier to think.
Meet Dr. Yogesh RathodWhat you will find here
What actually happens when someone becomes critically ill? Understand the decisions, machines, treatments and difficult conversations behind intensive care.
Health advice spreads quickly. That doesn't make it true. Separate evidence from popular medical myths.
In an emergency, knowing what matters can make a difference. Learn how doctors think about urgent situations and what families should understand.
Antibiotics. Vaccines. Resistance. Outbreaks. Understand what the evidence actually says.
Good healthcare is not only about treating disease. It is also about understanding risk before a crisis arrives.
Medical questions people often hesitate to ask. Explained clearly. Without unnecessary jargon.
The science of everyday poisons—and the mistakes that can make them more dangerous.

The Critical View principles
Different topics. One common goal—
A better-informed society.
A series from The Critical View
The science of the things that can kill you—and the mistakes that can make them worse.
Toxicology rests on a simple principle:
The dose makes the poison.
Each Poison File takes one poison and works through it properly:
What it does inside the body.
How to recognise danger.
What to do next.
And which well-meaning “first aid” mistakes can make things worse.
